Watch this Space (2021)
The second WTS project occured in 2021 just as venues were beginning to open up again after the COVID 19 pandemic. This project focussed on practice development as collaboration was more difficult to facilitate at this time.

Live Poetry Writing
Comida, Kendal
Poet and writer, Melissa Davies took over Comida in Kendal during Kendal Poetry Festival. She used the public’s responses to ‘How do you feel when you step out of your front door?’ to write a poem live over two days and used the windows of the restaurant to display the unique poem. The response from the public was so positive and the owner of Comida loved the poem so much, it was displayed in the windows for the rest of the week until the festival ended. Melissa has continued to work with the organisers of the festival.
Graphic Design Exhibition
Comidia, Kendal
Stephanie Fulke, a lecturer at Kendal College, used the space at Comida to display the Graphic design projects that Kendal College students had been working on through lock-down. The work was in partnership with the Back On Our Map (BOOM) project which is reintroducing rare species to South Lakeland. The exhibition continued for a full week and elements of the exhibition were displayed at Comida for weeks afterwards.
Circus Residency
Yorkshire Dales Guides Barn, Stainforth
Poppy Avison-Fell (Poppins Presents) took over the barn to host a circus residency for professional circus performers and run public workshops for beginners. The workshops on both days were fully booked which has provided great evidence for running similar workshops in the future.

Comedy Documentary Filming
Yorkshire Dales Guides Barn, Stainforth
Clementine Bogg-Hargroves and her production company Get Giddier used the barn space and the climbing wall facilities it provides to film an episode of their comedy documentary series ‘Snoop with Sneesh’, featuring iconic landmarks in and around Settle.
Co-working Studio
Comidia, Kendal
Marisa Crane hosted a co-working studio for young creatives which resulted in them using the whole building to create an experimental mixed-media art installation which explored their relationship to the place they live i.e. the rural area of Cumbria and the Lake District.

Wild Music Video
Peat Bog, Yorkshire Dales National Park
Sarah Smout, cellist and singer song-writer, already had her unusual space but needed support to film a music video on a blanket bog in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. In partnership with Yorskhire Wildlife Trust she employed Film on the Brain to produce a video for her song Atlas and to highlight the threats facing our peatlands.
